Where ingredients cannot come from our farm, they are found in neighbouring areas in Sicily. Our Pistachio Oil is sourced from a farm just 20 minutes from ours. Geraci Water is in all our products (with the exception of our face and body oils) and is located in the Natural Park of Madonie in the north of Sicily, where the water comes from deep in the limestone rock, straight down to the village and is extremely pure. Di Giovanna vineyard is 40 minutes away from our farm and provides the white wine for our products.
The Di Giovanna property spans 56 hectares, and their viticulture tradition dates back five generations. The Gerbino Blanco we use is fresh, fruity, and harmonious, with aromas of white flowers, peach, melon, and a hint of honey. As well as being certified organic, it is vegan friendly. We also work with reputable farmers in the Trentino region where our lab is based.
At Irene Forte Skincare, we ensure that our ingredients come from crops that are not over-farmed or treated with harmful pesticides. We are strongly opposed to harmful ingredients, such as mineral oil and plastic microbeads. Our philosophy is to use only what is necessary and find naturally derived alternatives to synthetic colours and preservatives, and harsh surfactants. Our insistence on plant-based sources means all our products are vegan and are certified by VegetalOK. The properties of plants and fruits are incredible, so we strive to understand and protect nature rather than harm it in any way.
We have also integrated upcycled ingredients made from nutrient-rich plant-based leftovers, so nothing goes to waste. Our Upcycled Olive Seed Oil comes from a northern Italian supplier whose mission is to create an eco-sustainable circular economy. Every single part of the olive has powerful benefits, so our supplier uses all of it. We take oil made from the usually discarded pit because it has so much to offer the skin; it contains all the essential amino acids and a particular polyphenol, Nuzhenide. These compounds have antioxidant properties, protecting the skin with a regenerating, anti-inflammatory, and moisturizing effect. Our Upcycled Wheat Bran comes from the Po River Valley in northern Italy and our Upcycled Red Grape Skin comes from the Emilia-Romagna region in Italy and has strong antioxidant activity.
