There's no better way to start our #ForteFemales At Home Series than with the extraordinary Emotional Health Advisor, Roxie Nafousi. Roxie is a writer, a qualified yoga teacher, an ambassador for the Mental Health Foundation, a self-love activist and an Instagram Agony Aunt.
Which place would you travel to now if you could?
Ibiza! I am dreaming of oysters and rose at El Chiringuito Beach Club or eating the Burrata overlooking the ocean at Amante!
What's the first restaurant you're going to go to after the quarantine?
Beast in London. They do the best truffle chips and peppercorn sauce I’ve ever tasted, and chunky chips are my weakness!
What are your favourite beauty places or spa treatments?
I love lymphatic drainage with Flavia Morellato, facials with Dr. Rabia, and a blowdry at Hershesons!
What are you doing/using to stay physically active and mentally well at the moment?
I’m exercising every morning before breakfast, I'm loving The Sculpt Society at the moment. I'm keeping very busy with work, practising gratitude daily and treasuring the time with my baby boy!
What helps you get to sleep if you are wired but tired?
I actually love using CBD oil, if I feel wired after a big job and I know I need to unwind to get some sleep. I think because I don’t use it regularly, when I do I find it really effective!
What is your skincare regime during the lock-down (morning and evening)?
I am being really committed to a double cleanse, serum, moisturiser and eye cream. I use a mask once a week, I love Irene Forte's Lavender & Rosemary Balancing mask especially as I’m prone to redness! I am also using my Jade Roller, every day after the shower. I’ve been leaving it in the freezer so it’s extra cold!
Do you have one evening or more a week where you spend time masking/pampering? What do you do?
Sundays are definitely my self-care day! I also make sure I soak in a long magnesium salt bath and do some body scrubbing! Then I’ll apply an overnight hair mask which I wash out on Monday morning before drying and straightening it!
What is the best beauty/skin advice you've ever been given?
That good skin starts within you; from what you eat, drink and how you move your body. Only then can you see the benefits of your skincare regime!
